The Not-So-Impossible Question

In light of the anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the impossible question which is really not that impossible with a little reasearch is the following:

Excluding the hijackers, how many people died in the attacks of 9/11?
First correct answer wins the prize which will be awarded on Wednesday, September 17 @ The Refuge.

Well, according to Wikipedia the death toll excluding hijackers totals 2,974. BUT according to CNN the death toll had been dropped to 2,792 and then again to 2,752 on October 29, 2003. CBS reports that as of July 10, 2008 the total number of deaths (outside of hijackers) is 2,751. Thank you very much. :)
