The Fall of a Hero

At this very moment, I am running on fumes. It is 12:00pm and I am exhausted having had only 2 hours of sleep last night. The culmination of almost 20 years of waiting for the return of one of the greatest fictional heroes of all time came to a climax this morning. I was among a host of other nostalgia driven fans to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I stayed up to catch the first showing of the 4th installment which started at 12:01 this morning. What a disappointment it was. I won't go into detail so as not to spoil for those of you who will see it, but let's just say that Indiana Jones and aliens aren't supposed to be in the same script. I will admit that the action sequences were good, but the story was a huge downer. I enjoyed my Java Monster drink and gummi worms that I scarfed to stay awake more than I enjoyed the plot. This was a piece of my childhood that I wish Lucas and Spielberg would have left alone.

The only saving grace for the evening was that David Cook won American Idol. At least that was one thing done correctly.
